As a teacher, I think that I will use data collection
(surveys) in numerous ways. I would use this to make sure that the students are
comprehending the 11th grade math material that I am teaching. This would help
me with evaluations better than tests/ quizzes for students who experience test
anxiety. I would then use the surveys to see what certain concepts that I need
to teach again. I cou;ld also use the surveys to see what activities and resources are most useful and beneficial to their learning as a way of improving the classroom environment.
There were a couple of topics that I found most interesting
from reviewing my classmates’ blogs. On the topic of teachers and teacher
professional development, I learned about ELearning from a classmate. This
website is beneficial because it provides teachers with constantly updated information
on technology trends and resources. An OER resource that I learned about was Khan
Academy. This is a wonderful resource that helps students through online
lessons and practice.
A technology related-technology skill that I would like to
learn next is how to use Smart Boards. I would like to learn this skill because
I plan to use this resource in my future classroom. Since the use of boards and
technology has experienced much progression over time, it is reasonable to think
that these electronic boards will dominate future classrooms. I plan to achieve
this goal by practicing using them in my own classes or taking another trip to
the tech sandbox!
